It is getting so close to Christmas! This time of year is quite festive given all the holidays at this time.
After getting married and starting a family together I have been thinking a great deal about traditions. When you come together, you are combining old traditions from different families and considering starting your own.
One of my favorite traditions is baking cookies. Growing up, we used to make several different kinds. Now as a mom to 2 little children, I decided to edit my list to just one type- sugar cookies! I thought it would be fun for my oldest to try decorating.
We used Alison Roman’s sugar cookie recipe from NYT Cooking (one of my favorite subscriptions). I did make one substitution. I recently made my own cinnamon butter and I used this in place of the butter required and it turned out to be a delicious swap!
My daughter and I cut out the cookies and baked them. We plan to decorate them on Christmas Eve!
Happy Holidays!
